Waste water treatment plant at Thermal power plant “Kostolac B”

Waste waters coming out from the thermal power plant “Kostolac B” have very strong negative impact on Mlava River, surrounding soil and the environment in general. The pollution has huge health implications for the nearby population.

New waste water treatment plant significantly mitigates pollution by reducing concentration of the pollutants such as fuel oil, mineral oils, suspended solids, heavy metals etc. in discharged water.

The facility has been completed in September 2022 and is in accordance with EU directives and the National and local legislation and regulations at the WWTP outlet. Total value of the investment is 6.4 million EUR while the EU grant contribution is 5.5 million EUR.
