Capacity building to implement acquis standards and conventions in Nature protection- supplies for implementation of Natura 2000 and cites- Hand Held GPS with integrated camera

Summary

The aim of the Natura 2000 is to protect core areas, species or habitat types that are endangered, vulnerable, rare, endemic or outstanding examples of one or more of Europe’s nine biogeographical regions. Serbia is home to 74% of the European birds - and 67% of the European mammal fauna. At present, protected areas cover 6.51 % of the territory. There are around 2000 species and 230 habitat types for which core sites need to be designated as the Natura 2000 sites. Through this project, Serbia will strength its capacities to implement EU policies and legislation in the nature protection as a prerequisite for becoming an EU member state.
