Summary
Veterinarians are the only doctors educated to treat both animals and people. They also play critical roles in environmental protection, research, food safety, and public health. Research veterinarians at universities, colleges, governmental agencies, or in industry are finding new ways to diagnose, treat, and prevent health disorders. They have made many important contributions to human health. Technical Assistance will assist with improvement of animal health and welfare veterinary services , including alignment with the EU acquis, awareness raising, training, and development of strategic and other documents. The contract will furthermore strengthen institutional and administrative capacities of competent authorities for enforcement of animal health and welfare legislation aligned with the EU acquis.
